Australia’s only non-stop service to Cebu has launched with Jetstar’s newest route taking flight from Brisbane. Cebu is Jetstar’s sevent international route operated from Brisbane Airport and is flying its next-generation Airbus A321LR aircraft on the seasonal service, travelling three times a week until 16 May 2026. The route has been so popular that Jetstar has already added an extra weekly service to the schedule for the new year, increasing to four times per week in January. The inaugural flight marks a direct connection between Australia and Cebu, the heart of the Visayas islands in the Philippines. The province is a gateway to the region’s natural wonders, including beaches, diving spots, and waterfalls.
Brisbane Airport CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff said the addition of the seasonal service brings Brisbane Airport to 35 international destinations for Queenslanders to explore. “We are delighted to welcome this new service to Brisbane Airport, creating a new direct link between Australia and Cebu and strengthening our connection with the Philippines just in time for the busy holiday travel period. It offers Queenslanders easier access to one of Asia’s most breathtaking island destinations, from a canyoneering adventure in Kawasan Falls, witnessing the world-famous sardine run in Moalboal or enjoying the spectacular sunsets the Philippines are renowned for. The addition of this service will also be welcomed by Queensland’s large Filipino community, making it easier to connect with family, while boosting trade and business opportunities between our two regions.”
Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully said the launch of the Brisbane to Cebu service represents another exciting step in Jetstar’s growth. “As demand for international travel continues to rise, our expanding fleet is allowing us to deliver more low fares to exciting new destinations. Cebu is an amazing holiday option for our customers, with its rich history, pristine beaches and impressive food scene. We’re thrilled to be the first low-cost carrier to connect Brisbane directly to Cebu, giving Aussies an affordable and easy way to experience this incredible destination. And with the Christmas holidays marking one of our busiest travel periods of the year, it’s an especially exciting time for Jetstar as we welcome more customers onboard to celebrate the season.”
