BBN Airlines Thailand is supporting Vietjet Thailand through an ACMI partnership that began on 1 December 2025, supplying one Airbus A320 for domestic services between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Chiang Mai and Phuket.
BBN Airlines Thailand received its Air Operator Certificate in October, becoming Thailand’s first dedicated ACMI carrier. The airline had operated under the name Thai SmartLynx during its development phase before commencing full services as BBN Airlines Thailand.
The ACMI arrangement includes aircraft provision in a 180-seat Economy configuration, experienced flight and cabin crew, maintenance, and insurance coverage, allowing Vietjet Thailand focus on network management and customer experience, while leveraging BBN Airlines Thailand’s operational flexibility and reliability.
“This partnership represents a key milestone for BBN Airlines Thailand as we roll out flexible capacity solutions to Thailand and the region,” said Martynas Grigas, Chairman, BBN Airlines Thailand. “We are delighted to welcome Vietjet Thailand as our first ACMI partner and confident our support will align with their operational needs, especially as we enter the busy holiday season.”
To ensure seamless passenger experience, onboard services on these wet-leased flights will be managed jointly; a Vietjet Thailand cabin representative will be on board each flight to ensure services meet Vietjet Thailand standards while coordinating with BBN Airlines Thailand’s crew and staff.
The timing of this partnership coincides with robust recovery across Thailand’s aviation and tourism sectors. Recent data from Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) show that in the first half of fiscal 2025, over 68 million passengers passed through its six main airports, a rise of 12% year on year, with domestic traffic accounting for more than 26 million passengers.
Vietjet resumes Con Dao flights
Vietjet will restart its direct services to Con Dao on 3 December, providing international travelers with greater access and more affordable options to explore one of Vietnam’s most captivating island destinations. Vietjet said it is restoring one daily round-trip service from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s largest cities and key hubs in Southeast Asia. From December 15, 2025, frequencies on both routes will double to two round-trip flights per day to accommodate surging year-end travel demand to the island. The routes will be operated with Vietjet’s modern fleet and enhanced service standards. Supported by optimized operations and flexible fare options, passengers can look forward to a smooth, comfortable journey to Con Dao, an island famed for its dramatic landscapes, rich biodiversity, and significant historical sites.
