Developed to Level D certification, the device represents a major milestone in Azerbaijan’s aviation training capability. Installed at the NAA, the Boeing 787-9 FFS provides pilots with the most advanced and immersive training experience available today, ensuring proficiency, safety, and operational excellence across the region.

The first of its type in the Caspian Sea region, the new simulator significantly expands training capacity, supporting the rising regional demand for pilot training of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and other airlines. The NAA will now be able to offer local CAA and EASA certified Boeing 787 training to other operators throughout the region.

Agil Heydarov, General Director at National Aviation Academy, Azerbaijan Airlines said: “We are proud to support Azerbaijan Airlines and the wider aviation community with world-class training infrastructure. The addition of the Boeing 787-9 Full Flight Simulator enables us to deliver the highest quality instruction for one of the most advanced commercial aircraft in operation today.”

The NAA, also known as Milli Aviasiya Akademiyası, located adjacent to Heydar Aliyev International Airport, serves as Azerbaijan’s leading civil aviation training institution. With a mission to advance aviation education, the academy offers specialised programmes for flight crew, engineers, and aviation professionals, combining academic excellence with cutting-edge simulation and technology-based training.

Ben Swann, GM & SVP Acron Aviation said: “This training device elevates Azerbaijan’s pilot training capabilities.” Swann continued, “we are proud to support the region as it expands and evolves its pilot training operations.”

To support the new FFS, Acron Aviation will provide 24/7 aftermarket support for spares, repairs, and future updates. This comprehensive support will ensure the device performs optimally throughout its operational lifespan.
