Embraer and CAE are expanding their full-flight simulator network with the deployment of a state-of-the-art E2 full-flight simulator (FFS) at the CAE Madrid training centre, located close to the Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport. The new E2 simulator will be operated by the Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS) joint venture and will be their first simulator to support the growing E2 family fleet in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
“With this new simulator in Madrid, CAE is expanding its partnership with Embraer and reinforcing its commitment to support E2 customers in EMEA,” said Michel Azar-Hmouda, CAE’s Division President, Commercial Aviation. “The advanced training offered in Madrid, featuring CAE’s competency-based training assessment (CBTA) courseware and CAE Simfinity virtual simulator, will enhance classroom training. This, combined with the latest generation simulator, ensures our E2-trained pilots have the skills and confidence for safe operation of the E2 aircraft.”
“This is a significant milestone for our joint venture with CAE that will support the growing E2 fleet in EMEA. At CAE Madrid, our customers will benefit from world-class training and state-of-the-art technology – closer to home. Embraer is very pleased with this deployment, and we will keep working every day to be wherever our customers need us to be,” says Carlos Naufel, President and CEO, Embraer Services & Support.
This is the second E2 simulator to be deployed in the ECTS network, joining the E2 FFS in operation at the CAE Singapore training centre. ECTS operates nine Phenom-family full-flight simulators at CAE business aviation training centres in Dallas, Texas; Las Vegas, Nevada; Burgess Hill, United Kingdom; São Paulo, Brazil; and Vienna, Austria, where training begins this summer.
Cebu Pacific and CAE extend training partnership
Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading carrier, and CAE announced at the Paris International Airshow that they have signed an agreement to expand their CAE Philippines joint venture with the deployment of an Airbus A330neo full-flight simulator (FFS), supported by a long-term training services agreement, at their training centre in Clark, Philippines. The A330neo FFS is scheduled to be ready-for-training by December 2026 and will add to the existing A320 and ATR 72-600 simulators currently operating at the Clark facility. Cebu Pacific currently operates the largest A330neo fleet in Asia, with 11 aircraft in service and additional deliveries expected in the near future.
“Being the largest operator of the A330neo in Asia, this new simulator will provide additional training capacity and heighten the safe operation of this state-of-the-art aircraft. This expansion will help meet the growing demand for pilot training as Cebu Pacific continues to grow its network and widebody fleet,” said Javier Massot, Cebu Pacific Chief Operations Officer (COO).
“The deployment of this new A330neo simulator strengthens our shared commitment to delivering world-class pilot training. We are happy to be expanding our longstanding partnership with Cebu Pacific and further enhancing our centre’s position as a key aviation training hub in the region,” said Michel Azar-Hmouda, Division President, Commercial Aviation.
Since establishing their joint training centre in Clark in 2011, Cebu Pacific and CAE have worked together to provide world-class pilot training solutions using state-of-the-art technology, support fleet growth, and contribute to the continued development of aviation professionals in the Philippines and across the Asia-Pacific region.
