Sun PhuQuoc is a start-up carrier owned in part by the Sun Group, a well-established luxury hospitality brand. The airline is headquartered in Vietnam and currently operates a fleet of Airbus A321ceo and A321neo aircraft, initially connecting the island of PhuQuoc with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi Noi Bai International and Da Nang. Further route expansion to South Korea and Taiwan is planned from 2026. Under the terms of the agreement, AJW Group will provide comprehensive PBH and MBK support for Sun PhuQuoc’s current fleet of six aircraft, comprising two A321ceos and four A321neos. The contract will support the airline’s operations as it enters service and positions Sun PhuQuoc to scale efficiently in line with its ambitious growth plans. The airline is expected to expand its fleet rapidly in the coming years, supported by the financial backing and strategic experience of the Sun Group, adding significant momentum to its development in the region. The RFP process commenced in July 2025, with teams from both organisations working closely throughout to develop a tailored support solution aligned to Sun PhuQuoc’s operational and growth requirements.

The services will be performed at Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen’s facility and will support Air Premia’s fleet of nine Boeing 787-9 aircraft powered by Trent 1000 engines, ensuring reliable and efficient operations. The ten-year contract, commencing on January 1, 2026, covers maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO), modification, and spare support services including lease and exchange solutions provided through Lufthansa Technik’s global network. Under the terms of the agreement, Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen will provide comprehensive services for a wide range of Airframe Related Components including Engine Inlet Cowls, Fan Cowls, Thrust Reversers, Exhaust Nozzles, Radomes, and Flight Controls, helping Air Premia to ensure stable operations. “In order to sustain our unrivalled operations, we have chosen to partner with the industry’s leading technical service providers, ensuring seamless operations and the highest standards of customer satisfaction. News in brief on AJW Group Sun PhuQuoc Airways Air Premia Lufthansa Technik Dedienne Aerospace GE Aerospace ST EngineeringGE Aerospace to start module repair ops at Seletar Aerospace Park: GE Aerospace marked the expansion of its operations at Seletar Aerospace Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new module repair facility, in partnership with JTC Corporation (JTC) and Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). The new facility forms part of GE Aerospace’s recently announced US$300 million investment to expand its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities in Singapore, and will support the growth of dedicated CFM LEAP-1A/1B High-Pressure Turbine (HPT) module repairs. This new shop will further enhance GE Aerospace’s in-region MRO capabilities to support customers across Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Tim McQueen, Executive Director, Global Component Repair Network, GE Aerospace said: “This expansion at Seletar Aerospace Park underscores our commitment to building in-region MRO capabilities that help reduce turnaround time and enhance connectivity for our customers across APAC and the Middle East. ST Engineering’s longstanding relationship with Xiamen Airlines spans over 35 years, beginning with JT8D, CFM56-3 and CFM56‑7B engine shop visits. The expansion of this partnership to LEAP-1A PRSV services underscores ST Engineering’s extensive and growing engine MRO solutions as well as its long-term support for airline customers as they undergo fleet modernisation with new-generation aircraft. Southeast Asia passenger traffic is forecast to more than triple through 2043, increasing utilisation and the need for predictable, on-time maintenance execution. From Dedienne Aerospace Service Centers in Singapore and Malaysia, customers can rely on a one-stop shop for tooling lifecycle management, aligned with OEM requirements, from periodic certification, training, repair and upgrades, with one operational focus: keep the right tooling available, serviceable, and ready when needed. The long-term agreement covers a wide range of component services, including on-site stock, pool access and component repair services at their main base in Bangkok, Thailand. In addition, THAI will benefit from Airbus’ engineering expertise and dedicated FHS regional representatives, providing close operational support for the airline’s daily maintenance activities and enhancing fleet availability and cost predictability. THAI’s first FHS agreement came in 2012, signing a component support to cover 20 A320ceo aircraft.
