Helipower specialises in rural, remote and off-shore air transport and aerial work services, from bases in Townsville, Rockhampton and Horn Island.

“We’re excited to order our first new H125 helicopter as it will complement our existing fleet and give our team a proven utility helicopter which can operate in extreme environments,” said Kelly Forster, Director and Chief Pilot at Helipower. “In north Queensland, the temperatures can be consistently hot and humid, so having a helicopter that is capable and proven is exactly what we need,” he added.

“All over the world, the H125 is performing as the all round workhorse of the helicopter stable. And here in the north of Australia, the H125 will also perform well for Helipower in extreme temperatures and remote locations,” said Christian Venzal, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Australia and New Zealand.

The H125 provides enhanced safety and reduced workload for pilots with its touchscreen glass cockpit instrument panel, which incorporates the Garmin G500H TXi avionics suite and Vehicle & Engine Multifunction Display (VEMD) developed for Airbus. The VEMD enables pilots to monitor the main vehicle and engine parameters at a glance. The helicopter’s wireless connection automatically transfers flight data at the end of each flight.

Today, more than 4,300 H125 family helicopters are flying across the globe in the most demanding conditions. The H125 is the absolute market leader in the intermediate single-engine helicopter category, achieving a market share of around 80% in 2024. In 2024, the Ecureuil family celebrated 40 million flight hours and 50 years since its maiden flight.
