AAV_BulletinCollinson Group’s Airport Dimensions unit announced its expansion into Indonesia through a strategic investment in Blue Sky Group, the owner of Blue Sky Lounge. Airport Dimensions has acquired a 45% stake of Blue Sky Group’s subsidiary PT Bumi Liputan Angkasa, marking a significant step in its rapid expansion into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

This move into Indonesia sees Airport Dimensions gain a meaningful foothold in the second fastest-growing aviation network in the world. The first project under this collaboration is already underway, with the partners excited to announce the upcoming opening of a new airport lounge at Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport later this year. The new lounge aims to further enhance the passenger experience in the region.

The partnership will leverage the strengths of both organisations to elevate Indonesia’s airport hospitality offerings. Blue Sky Lounge already hold a leading market position, with premium airport lounges in key Indonesia airports such as Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, and Juanda International Airport in Surabaya. The acquisition significantly expands Airport Dimensions’ presence in Asia Pacific, welcoming a further 11 airport lounges to the network and further plans for growth under the new partnership. These lounges are located across Indonesia in major regions and airports such as Jakarta (Terminals 1, 2 and 3), Balikpapan, Samarinda, Batam, Bali, Pontianak, Palembang, Pekanbaru and Surabaya.

The investment and partnership is a cornerstone of Airport Dimensions’ broader strategy to expand its lounge network across APAC, following recent successful entries into Hong Kong with Kyra Lounge and Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club, and a flagship partnership with SASCO in Vietnam. With each new collaboration, Airport Dimensions strengthens its reputation for delivering bespoke airport experiences, combining local insights with global standards of comfort, convenience, and innovation. Indonesia is experiencing a surge in aviation growth, driven by rising tourism and increasing foreign investment, making it a pivotal market in APAC. Airport Dimensions is committed to working closely with Blue Sky Lounge and local stakeholders to deliver high-quality, innovative lounge experiences that are perfectly tailored to the local environment and culture.

Errol McGlothan, President EMEA and APAC at Airport Dimensions, said: “Indonesia represents an incredibly dynamic market, and we are thrilled to partner with Blue Sky Lounge to bring our global expertise to this rapidly growing aviation network. As the second fastest-growing aviation market in the world, Indonesia offers immense opportunities. Airport Dimensions is committed to delivering world-class operational expertise to support Indonesia’s swift growth as a key regional hub for business and tourism. Through this partnership, global best practices will be seamlessly integrated with local expertise to meet the ever-evolving needs of travellers. We are incredibly excited to have a new lounge underway in Makassar. This project signifies our commitment to elevating the passenger experience and we look forward to seeing how this will transform the airport lounge experience in the region.”

President Director of Blue Sky Group, Linan Kurniahu: “We’re thrilled to be able to partner with one of the largest Airport Lounge networks in the world. This marks a significant milestone in our over 50 years of journey in this hospitality industry in the country. We hope to bring greater travel experience into all airports throughout Indonesia, and we hope that through this partnership we can expand our presence internationally.”

As part of the Collinson Group, Airport Dimensions has a track record of delivering footfall through its lounges because they are the preferred destination for millions of Priority Pass and LoungeKey members. These Indonesian locations will join its award-winning network of lounges and experiences at major airports such as Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Brazil, New York, Boston, Dallas and San Francisco.

Travellers in Indonesia can now expect the elevated guest experience that is synonymous with the Airport Dimensions brand. The company’s focus on customer satisfaction and its commitment to innovation continue to set new standards for airport lounges across the globe.
