Asian Aviation Editor Matt Driskill is In Conversation with Saravanan Ramasamy, CEO of Myanmar Airways and Air KBZ. Ramasamy has extensive experience in a wide spectrum of specialties in the airline industry, spanning over 15 years and at Myanmar Airways International (MAI) and Air KBZ, he is tasked with formulating and implementing the entire transformational initiatives for both airlines.

Prior to joining MAI and Air KBZ, Ramasamy has held various senior management roles at leading airlines such as AirAsia, Lion Air and Malaysian Airlines. At Malaysia Airlines he spearheaded the partner selection strategy for the replacement of the airline reservation system. At MAS, Saravanan held various positions, namely; Project Lead at the Revenue Management Department, Head of Fare Filing and Distribution, Head the Special Prorate Agreements (SPA) and Interline Management, Head of Global Sales and Head of e-Business. Prior to joining MAS, he was a consultant with Accenture Ltd, primarily focusing on financial industry. His 4 years’ stint with Accenture enabled him to gain a diverse range of experience at both national and international level, which among others include program managing the merger between a leading finance company and a leading commercial bank in Malaysia, implementing strategic planning and forecasting model for a leading bank in Mauritius and developing business case for a merger between two leading banks in Singapore. Prior to Accenture, Saravanan began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co where he was a part the audit and business advisory performing statutory audits, due diligence and business operations reviews.

Matthew Driskill
Matt Driskill is the Editor of Asian Aviation. He has been an Asia-based journalist and content producer since 1990 for outlets including Reuters and the International Herald Tribune/New York Times and is a former president of the Foreign Correspondents Club of Hong Kong. He appears on international broadcast outlets like Al Jazeera, CNA and the BBC and has taught journalism at Hong Kong University and American University of Paris. In 2022 Driskill received the "Outstanding Achievement Award" from the Aerospace Media Awards Asia organisation for his editorials and in 2024 received a "Special Recognition for Editorial Perspectives" award from the same organisation. Driskill has received awards from the Associated Press for Investigative Reporting and Business Writing and in 1989 was named the John J.
