Australia’s Navair expands fleet with new Embraer Phenom 300E

Australian private charter operator Navair has taken delivery of a new Embraer Phenom 300E after being ferried from the Embraer aircraft manufacturing facility in Melbourne, Florida, to Navair’s base at Sydney’s Bankstown Airport. The flight was captained by Navair CEO Rick Pegus. This new aircraft in the fleet is widely reported as being the world’s best-selling light jet, and is built for both corporate and leisure charter. With a range of around 2,000 nautical miles, it can cover routes such as Sydney to Auckland or Sydney to Cairns, cutting out the stopovers a shorter-range aircraft would need. The cabin seats up to nine and is built wider and taller than most light jets in its class, with a flat centre aisle passengers can stand and move through, a point of difference at this size compared to competitors. It also carries more baggage capacity than is typical for the category, so longer trips don’t mean packing light. Rick Pegus, CEO of Navair, said the Phenom 300E’s arrival gives the operator’s clients access to the newest aircraft in its category anywhere in the country. “This aircraft joins a modern fleet that’s growing to match what our clients are asking for, and is now ready for charters leading into the busy end of year period,” Pegus said. “It’s part of a deliberate run of investment this year, from the PC-24 to our expanded access into New Zealand. I flew the new Phenom home myself, and it is an incredible executive jet. It’s quiet, stable, and reliable, which is the type of aircraft we want available for our clients.” The aircraft is fitted with advanced safety features like automatic emergency descent, and a system that continuously checks whether the runway ahead is long enough and warns the crew of discrepancies. The Phenom 300E is ideally suited to the Australia-Pacific region, providing faster, more direct charter and point-to-point travel without the connections or stopovers a commercial airline itinerary would require. The addition follows Navair’s introduction of the Pilatus PC-24 to its fleet and the operator’s recent New Zealand CAA approval for unrestricted, on-demand charter access into 13 New Zealand aerodromes, the third expansion to Navair’s operation in 2026. The Phenom 300E is now available for charter, with confirmed availability to be announced via Navair’s social channels.
