Ink Innovation deploys CUPPS platform at Suriname airport

Ink Innovation announced the deployment of its Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) at Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport (JAPIA, PBM) in Para, Suriname. The rollout, delivered in partnership with Wintel N.V., Ink’s exclusive local partner in Suriname, equips JAPIA with a modern, shared infrastructure platform that integrates directly with airline Departure Control Systems (DCS) operating across the newly renovated terminal. As the sole operator of JAPIA, Airport Management Ltd. has been working to align the airport with international standards and prepare for long-term passenger growth. The adoption of Ink CUPPS represents a significant step in that digital roadmap, streamlining check-in and boarding operations while creating a scalable foundation for future passenger touchpoints. Ink CUPPS is delivered through a subscription-based model, reducing upfront capital and ongoing operational costs for both the airport and its airline partners. By consolidating check-in and boarding onto a single shared platform, JAPIA can manage resources more efficiently and offer airlines a straightforward path to certification. The platform supports both modern and legacy systems, ensuring compatibility across the full range of airline DCS environments operating at the airport. Mobile passenger processing is also available through the Ink Touch app on Apple iPhone, enabling airlines to extend check-in and boarding beyond fixed counters, manage demand surges, and maintain operations through outages or system disruptions. The rollout is already in progress. Sky High Dominicana has already migrated and is using CUPPS and FlyAllWays has completed CUPPS certification and is operational on the platform. GOL, Copa Airlines, Caribbean Airlines, KLM, and Surinam Airways are in the certification pipeline. Once certified, airlines gain full interoperability with all CUPPS-compliant software at JAPI and access to additional services, including Ancillary Payments. “Integrating with the Ink CUPPS platform was straightforward and well-supported.
