Flight simulator manufacturer HAVELSAN announced that its domestically developed Boeing 737NG Flight Training Device Level 2 (FTD Level 2) has received both FNPT II MCC and FTD 2 certifications from Türkiye’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The device has been delivered to SunExpress’s Antalya Training Center, where it strengthens the airline’s internal pilot training infrastructure. With certification now completed, the simulator is ready to support Boeing 737NG pilot training operations on-site. The certification marks a milestone for Türkiye’s civil aviation training industry. This device is the first Turkish-manufactured FTD Level 2 simulator and the first in Türkiye to receive FTD Level 2 certification. This first device deployment additionally expands HAVELSAN’s STARLINE FSTD product portfolio, which now includes the STARLINE VEGA FTD Level 2 platform alongside its popular full flight simulator solutions. The simulator also integrates HAVELSAN’s in-house developed STARVIEW-B collimated imaging system. The system provides high-fidelity visual representation designed to enhance pilot immersion and procedural accuracy. The integration of a domestically engineered visual system further strengthens Türkiye’s capabilities in advanced simulator technologies and supports HAVELSAN’s domestic and export-oriented strategy. “This certification represents an important achievement for our country and our team at HAVELSAN,” said Mehmet Akif Nacar, Ph.D., CEO of HAVELSAN. “We thank SunExpress for its trust and cooperation throughout this project. Delivering a Boeing 737NG FTD Level 2 certified with the Boeing data package reflects our commitment to developing high-quality, compliant training systems that meet leading airline standards.” For Editorial Inquiries Contact: Editor Matt Driskill at [email protected] For Advertising Inquiries Contact: Head of Sales Sally Passey at [email protected]
