BOC Aviation adds 160 aircraft to orderbook

BOC Aviation announced its operational transactions for the fourth quarter and year ended 31 December 2025. Steven Townend, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, said, “In 2025, we delivered a strong operational performance, executing one of our largest ever volumes of transactions. We added 160 aircraft purchase commitments to our orderbook and reinforced our position as one of the top five global aircraft lessors. During the year, we took delivery of 51 new aircraft, reflecting our commitment to invest in technologically advanced aircraft. As part of our active portfolio management strategy, we sold 35 owned aircraft in 2025 and achieved a 100% aircraft utilisation rate. With a strong portfolio and orderbook, we are confident in achieving our future growth objectives.” The company reported a total portfolio of 815 aircraft and engines owned, managed and on order with an average aircraft age of five years and an average remaining lease term of 7.8 years for the 451 owned aircraft fleet. The company said it had an order book of 337 aircraft and a managed fleet comprised of 16 aircraft. The company also reported a customer base of 87 airlines in 46 countries and regions in the owned and managed portfolios and said owned aircraft utilisation was maintained at 100% throughout the year. BOC Aviation said it executed 66 transactions in the fourth quarter of 2025 and a total of 333 in 2025, including: Commitments in the fourth quarter to purchase 14 aircraft and a total of 160 commitments in 2025; Delivery of 16 aircraft (excluding four acquired by an airline customer prior to delivery) in the fourth quarter and a net total of 51 in 2025; and sales of seven owned and one managed aircraft in the fourth quarter, which brought the total number of owned and managed aircraft sold during the year to 35 and one, respectively. It also said it had 21 lease commitments in the fourth quarter and a total of 74 for 2025 and raised total funding for the year of over US$4 billion. Avolon adds 168 aircraft in FY2025 Avolon, a leading global aviation finance company, issued an update for the fourth quarter (Q4) and 2025 full year (FY). The company said it acquired 168 aircraft in FY 2025, including 106 aircraft as part of the Castlelake Aviation transaction, and 21 aircraft in Q4. It sold a record 95 aircraft in FY 2025 with an average age of 10 years, including 26 aircraft in Q4, and a further 72 aircraft agreed for sale. Avolon also said it placed 59 new-technology aircraft in FY 2025, including 10 aircraft in Q4 and ordered 90 new aircraft with Airbus including 75 A321neo aircraft and 15 A330neo aircraft, with the new aircraft scheduled to be delivered out to 2033. Avolon ended the year with an owned, managed and committed fleet of 1,132 aircraft, including orders and commitments for 500 aircraft. It also said it had investment grade ratings upgraded by Moody’s and Fitch with S&P upgrading their outlook to positive. It extended unsecured revolving credit facility to October 2029, and upsized the facility to US$6.3 billion and contracted US$6.6 billion of new unsecured debt financing in 2025 including US$3.6 billion of senior unsecured notes and US$3.0 billion in new unsecured bank facilities.
