AMSL Aero Appoints Dr Adriano Di Pietro as CEO

AMSL Aero, developer of the world-leading hydrogen-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft Vertiia, has appointed Dr Adriano Di Pietro as Chief Executive Officer. Dr Di Pietro brings nearly two decades of experience across aerospace, defence, automotive, and autonomous systems and will lead AMSL Aero into its next phase—achieving CASA certification, expanding manufacturing, and launching Vertiia internationally. In November 2024, AMSL Aero became one of the few companies globally to successfully conduct untethered horizontal flight with an eVTOL aircraft, underscoring Vertiia’s position as a global leader in long-range, zero-emissions aviation. Dr Di Pietro most recently served as CEO (Interim) of the Australian Air Mobility Cooperative Research Centre (AAMCRC) and was Director of the Aerospace Innovation Research (AIR) Hub at Swinburne University of Technology. There, he led major programs in hydrogen-powered flight and advanced air mobility systems development. His appointment comes as AMSL Aero prepares its second full-scale prototype of Vertiia and readies its first hydrogen-powered flight test program. With over 65 team members and growing commercial interest, Dr Di Pietro will drive certification and global commercialisation efforts.
