AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings opens new facility in Thailand

AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings has opened its new color blending and distribution facility in Chonburi, Thailand, marking a significant step in strengthening support for commercial aviation operators, MROs, OEMs and industry partners across the Asia-Pacific region. The official opening ceremony took place on 25 August 2026, with guests presented with the opportunity to tour the production floor, quality control laboratory and distribution facilities and also meet members of AkzoNobel’s local and region teams. The new Aerospace facility has been created to provide locally blended and in-stocked coating solutions tailored to individual customer requirements, while improving product availability and supporting growth in the region. From the Chonburi site, AkzoNobel will offer local blending of aerospace topcoats alongside streamlined access to primers, thinners and curing solutions; helping to reduce lead times and strengthening technical and commercial support for customers across the region. The Chonburi site is located only 90 minutes from the Bangkok International Airport, east of Pattaya and will play a key role in AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings’ ongoing commitment to supporting the region’s growing aviation industry with local availability of essential aerospace coatings products and services. Marius Vasiliu, Regional Sales Director, AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings Asia Pacific, says on the continued expansion into the Asia-Pacific region: “The new opening of our Chonburi facility is an important milestone as we look to support commercial aviation operators, MROs, OEMs, and industry partners across the region. Customers can expect fast access to the products they need, backed by technical expertise and increased responsiveness for locally blended and stocked coatings solutions at the highest quality. “From this site we will be able to offer increased distribution capabilities, reducing lead times for local blending of topcoats alongside streamlined access to primers, thinners and curing solutions.” For Editorial Inquiries Contact: Editor Matt Driskill at [email protected] For Advertising Inquiries Contact: Head of Sales Sally Passey at [email protected]
