Leonardo and Rotortrade announced their intention to move forward in their long-established partnership in the global pre-owned civil helicopter market, renewing the Distributor Agreement which, starting in 2013, made Rotortrade the sole international distributor of Leonardo’s pre-owned helicopters. The collaboration between Leonardo and Rotortrade over that period led to the sale of around 80 helicopters of various models across the global civil market, with proven growth since that time. This collaboration has allowed Leonardo to penetrate new markets and establish a joint sale network leveraging mutual expertise and support.
Capitalising on this success, Rotortrade is able to offer the aircraft models produced by Leonardo with manufacturer’s quality and support standard translating into a reliable and cost/effective service.
Stefano Villanti, senior vice president sales, Leonardo Helicopters said “By renewing this collaboration, together with Rotortrade we will be able to pursue new opportunities while delivering the best solutions for those who seek for an ideal combination of affordability, capability and serviceability. We look forward to continuing to meet the evolving requirements in a market that complements the one for new helicopters.”
“We created Rotortrade to offer a comprehensive pre-owned helicopter solution for the benefit of our customers. With the full support of Leonardo, Rotortrade provides higher value to the market with programs such as the Leonardo Certified Pre-Owned helicopters. We believe that our success has been built by our client satisfaction throughout the 11 branches we operate from. With the strong boost of our new shareholders, we expect 2022 to be our best year ever.” said Philippe Lubrano, president of Rotortrade.
THC and Leonardo sign deal for Saudi Arabia
THC (The Helicopter Company) and Leonardo are further reinforcing their collaboration in civil helicopter operations with the introduction of 16 AW139 intermediate twin engine aircraft for emergency medical service (EMS) and corporate transport missions across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Deliveries commence to start this year and shall be completed within the following three years. These aircraft add to THC’s existing AW139 fleet of seven helicopters. Six additional units may follow in the future expansion.
Gian Piero Cutillo, managing director of Leonardo Helicopters, said “We’re extremely pleased to build on the outstanding collaboration developed over years with THC contributing to their continued excellent quality service growth with more AW139 helicopters. We look forward to supporting our partner to deliver an even greater level of effective and safe passenger transport and emergency response missions across their country.”
“We are really excited to expand significantly our Leonardo fleet with this new order. The AW139 is certainly one of the most reliable platforms in the industry and the “best in class” transportation in this category. We are also delighted to re-emphasise our partnership with Leonardo a historic partner of THC, to develop new capabilities and services across the full rotary ecosystem in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia” said Captain Arnaud Martinez, CEO of The Helicopter Company.
