Vietjet announced it has expanded its flight network between Vietnam and China with the launch of Ho Chi Minh City – Chengdu direct service, following the Ho Chi Minh City – Shanghai route. The new service is scheduled to commence operation on the first day of Lunar New Year, the two countries’ biggest holiday.
The Ho Chi Minh City – Chengdu route will be inaugurated on February 10, 2024, operating one daily return flight. The flights take off from Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 19:10 (local time) and land in Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) at 00:15 the next day (local time). The flights from Chengdu depart at 00:50 (local time) and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 03:55 (local time).
Vietjet is aggressively expand its presence in China in a strategy bringing Southeast Asia closer to China. Vietjet Thailand has recently commenced the direct services linking Shanghai, Hangzhou and Guangzhou to the Thai capital of Bangkok, and plan to further connect more Chinese major cities in the coming time. These direct services not only provide travelers a wide range of travel options and affordable fares, but also help to stimulate the tourism economy between the countries and region to region.
