Vietjet officially launches Yangon – Ho Chi Minh City route
The airline also receives the 28th aircraft
(Ho Chi Minh City, October 13, 2015) – Vietjet has officially celebrated its new route connecting Yangon with Vietnam’s largest business and tourism hub, Ho Chi Minh City. A ceremony to celebrate the launch of the new route was held in Yangon with dignitaries and government officials from Myanmar and Vietnam in attendance. The new route is operating with five return flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Estimated flying time between the two cities is 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Speaking at the launch, Ms Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, Vice President of Vietjet, said: “The new route from Ho Chi Minh City to Yangon will bring Myanmar and Vietnam people opportunities to visit and discover these two countries’ incredible culture and breathtaking landscapes. It will also increase mutual trade exchange and investment between enterprises and investors. We hope that Vietjet’s safe flights, high-quality services, affordable ticket pricing, not to mention all the special surprises onboard, will continue to please all of our valued passengers.”
In recent years, Vietnam has grown to become a favorite tourist destination for international travelers eager to discover some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, the rich and varied local cuisine, in particular one of the world’s most developed street food scenes, and some of the most delicious coffee in the world. Tourists are always charmed by the warm, friendly and hospitable locals in Vietnam, which is also home to breathtaking natural scenery and heritage sites, such as the world’s largest cave “Sơn Đoòng,” Halong Bay, the former imperial city of Hue, and the ancient port town of Hoi An and My Son sanctuary.
To meet increasing demand, Vietjet has received its newest aircraft, an A320 (coded VN-A663), landed at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The aircraft is the 28th aircraft, and also the ninth of the milestone agreement between Vietjet and Airbus for acquisition and leasing 100 aircraft.
