Thai signs AFI KLM E&M 787 component deal

Thai Airways has signed a long-term component support deal with AFI KLM A&E for its fleet of eight Boeing 787s.

The Thai flag carrier already has four 787s in operation as of early February.
Parts covered by the agreement include consumables, rotables, tooling & equipment, as well as APU and engine nacelle support, making AFI KLM E&M the one-stop shop for the Dreamliners of its new long term customer.

AFI KLM E&M says this deal makes it “the one-stop shop” for the Dreamliners of its new long-term customer. “Leveraging the Group’s very unique position as having ordered the 787 and being a MRO on this same aircraft, AFI KLM E&M customers will directly benefit from an unequalled scale effect and from a very precious operational experience in every aspect to this new generation platform.”

Chalermpon Intarawong, executive vice president, THAI Technical, said: “I am very pleased with this significant cooperation and feel confident that AFI KLM E&M would provide the superb services with outstanding qualities as recognized among aviation industries.”
