Universal Avionics (UA) announced that authorized dealer Southeast Aerospace has received Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval from the FAA for InSight™ flight deck upgrades on the Hawker 800.
The upgrade program from Southeast Aerospace brings glass cockpit displays and advanced navigation systems to modernize the business jet and meet airspace compliance. The installation replaces legacy CRT displays with InSight, the latest generation EFIS from Universal Avionics. InSight upgrades provide new capabilities for pilots while resolving maintenance and repair challenges.
InSight features a 3D synthetic vision system (SVS), dual UNS-1Fw flight management systems (FMS) with LPV (Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance), and touchscreen control displays. The STC also includes FANS 1/A+, CPDLC (Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications), and ATN-B1 support. The solution is the first of its kind for Hawker 800/A/B/XP series aircraft, enhancing safety and operational efficiency to ensure continued global operation long into the future.
“Hawker 800(A)(B)(XP) owners and operators have a reason to be excited!” says Luke Gomoll of Southeast Aerospace. “It has been a long time since this airframe has received this level of attention. The SEA Hawker InSight upgrade is quite comprehensive in addressing multiple obsolete components and brings tremendous value as an upgrade. Better yet, this upgrade is available now using equipment that is available now. So, stop swapping those CRTs and step into a new EFIS with numerous other technology enhancements.”
“The InSight Display System upgrade is a sustainable glass cockpit solution elevating operations for business operators today with enhanced situational awareness, improved reliability, and long-term savings,” said Dror Yahav, CEO of Universal Avionics. “We are proud to work with Southeast Aerospace to bring those aircraft models to the front line of business jets and support hundreds of operators worldwide.”
