SeoulWingsAcademy.sg, Singapore’s largest retail flight simulator centre, recently opened with simulators those for civilian and military aircraft.

WingsAcademy.sg has a current total of six simulators, including two F/A-18C Hornet and one F-16C Fighting Falcon fighter jet simulators, a Boeing 737-800 simulator, a Cessna 172 simulator, and a Robinson R22 helicopter simulator. Each simulator is designed to provide an unmatched level of realism, ensuring that every user feels the genuine thrill of being in a cockpit.

“We are incredibly excited to unveil WingsAcademy.sg as the ultimate destination for aviation enthusiasts,” said Fabian Lim, Founder and CEO of WingsAcademy.sg. “Our mission is to provide an exceptional flight simulation experience that combines cutting-edge technology with authentically designed aviation cockpits. Whether you’re an aspiring pilot, a thrill-seeker, or a corporation seeking innovative team-building opportunities, WingsAcademy.sg is here to make your dreams take flight.”

WingsAcademy.sg’s flagship feature is Southeast Asia’s first retail F/A-18C Hornet mixed-reality (MR) fighter jet simulator, powered by the groundbreaking Varjo XR-3 MR technology. These MR headsets seamlessly combine virtual and real-world elements, creating an immersive experience that is both visually stunning and authentic. Users will be blown-away once the magic of flight comes to life before their very eyes.

The Robinson R22 helicopter simulator is also the first and only retail helicopter simulator in Southeast Asia. Now anyone can experience flying a genuine chopper, whether training to be a pilot, or simply turning their favourite aerial video games into “reality”.

WingsAcademy.sg also offers pilot preparatory and corporate training. For the student pilot segment, there is the Recreational Pilot Certificate Preparatory Course, Helicopter Private Pilot Licence Preparatory Course, and Airline Pilot Introductory Course, which are conducted by certified and highly experienced flight instructors.

Additionally, WingsAcademy.sg is providing the corporate market with access to training based on flight preparation, planning, missions, and scenarios, which is a first for Singapore. This training may encompass team-building programs for all levels, or customised leadership and change management programs.

In today’s fast-paced, complex environment, leaders must master a wide array of skills to guide their teams and organisations towards outstanding results. Key competencies include adept decision-making, crisis management, risk assessment, and effective communication.

While traditional courses and classroom settings provide a basis for these subjects, they often fall short in replicating real-life pressures. Flight simulators are therefore an engaging and realistic platform for honing these leadership skills as they provide a dynamic, high-stakes environment that mirrors the pressures and challenges that leaders may encounter. With this in mind, WingsAcademy.sg, in partnership with Dr Michael Loh, an acknowledged authority on leadership and the psychology of change, is proud to offer for the very first time in Singapore, The Skyward Leadership Program: High-Altitude Decision-Making for CEOs and Senior Executives©. This one-day training program offers a creative and atypical approach to leadership development where participants experience first-hand the challenges and pressures faced by pilots and learn how to apply these lessons to their executive roles.

WingsAcademy.sg hopes to increase the exposure of youth to the world of aviation. This will help to widen the pool of potential pilot candidates, whether commercial or military. Training with a simulator also helps to build muscle memory and experience, while enhancing the familiarity of flight procedures, thereby reducing the time spent flying trainer aircraft, which can be costly. The unique experience with simulators can also spark an interest in the aviation and aerospace industry, which will support Singapore’s manpower needs as a global aviation and aerospace hub.
