Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney announced they have signed multiple deals at Singapore’s MRO Asia Pacific conference.
Collins Aerospace renews FlightSense contract with Japan Airlines: Collins Aerospace, an RTX business has renewed its FlightSense contract with Japan Airlines (JAL) to provide comprehensive maintenance, repair, overhaul and asset management support for the airline’s fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The 10-year service agreement includes air management services and electric power components for JAL’s current fleet of more than 50 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft as well as future Dreamliner deliveries through 2035. This renewal also extends JAL’s previous Ascentia analytics services agreement for another five years, providing deep operational insights and data-driven support to enhance fleet performance and reduce life-cycle costs. FlightSense is a full lifecycle support program, providing airlines with maintenance solutions tailored to their unique operational needs. FlightSense is fed by Collins’ Ascentia analytics platform, which collects, analyzes and interprets millions of data points flowing from the aircraft to accurately identify performance trends, maintenance recommendations and actionable insights to improve fleet operations.
Collins secures FlightSense, DispatchSM contracts with China Airlines: Collins also announced it has secured two 20-year contracts with China Airlines, a Taiwan-based carrier, to provide FlightSense and DispatchSM solutions for its Boeing widebody fleets. These solutions are expected to enhance the airline’s operational efficiency, improve reliability and optimize maintenance schedules across a number of systems, including avionics, cargo, electrical power, environmental control and lighting. Both FlightSense and Dispatch solutions provide guaranteed component availability, reduced downtime and cost predictability through a fixed-rate service model. Under the long-term agreement, Collins will deliver predictive, reliability-based maintenance support to ensure optimal performance of avionics systems. The FlightSense predictable service agreement ensures the availability of parts and high-quality maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the airline’s Boeing 787 aircraft. Collins’ Dispatch avionics service program will also provide comprehensive MRO support for the airline’s 787 Dreamliner fleet, as well as Boeing 777 and Boeing 777 freighter aircraft. In addition, the solution covers asset and logistical support, while providing access to a pool of certified spares and repairs.
Pratt & Whitney signs APU deal with Singapore Airlines: Pratt & Whitney Canada signed a 15-year maintenance agreement with Singapore Airlines for 34 APS5000 auxiliary power units (APUs) which support the airline’s fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner passenger jets. Pratt & Whitney is an RTX (NYSE: RTX) business. “The agreement covers tailored maintenance solutions designed to provide peak performance, predictable costs, and long-term reliability of the APS5000, exclusively designed for the wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 787 Dreamliner and which is the industry’s first all-electric APU,” said Anthony Rossi, vice president Customer Service, Pratt & Whitney Canada. The APS5000 is the quietest APU in its class with the lowest emissions in the industry. It produces 450kVA of electrical power at sea level and starts and operates up to 43,100 feet. More than 1,400 APS5000 APUs have been manufactured, and the fleet has flown nearly 16 million hours. Pratt & Whitney Canada’s maintenance programs for its APU fleet deliver flexibility and predictable costs while maximising performance and long maintenance intervals.
