Avalon 25RocketDNA announced that it has been selected to supply the Western Australia Police Force (WAPOL) with drone-in-a-box systems for the development of their Drone as First Responder (DFR) programme.

As part of the program, drone-in-a-box systems will be strategically positioned across the state, ready for rapid deployment in a wide range of law enforcement tasks, including emergency response, surveillance, and search and rescue operations. The programme will position WAPOL as a leader in adopting modern technology to enhance its operational capabilities, providing real-time intelligence that supports better decision-making on the ground for its front-line workforce.

The Western Australia Police Force has already begun trialling Drone in a Box technology to improve safety and enhance intelligence gathering for officers responding to emergencies, with an Australian-first trial underway at Yanchep Police Station.

RocketDNA’s role in this programme further solidifies its presence in the rapidly growing drone technology sector. Its advanced systems will be pivotal in expanding WA Police’s capabilities, allowing for rapid response to emergencies, improving situational awareness, and enabling safer law enforcement operations across the state’s vast territory. This programme reflects the success of similar international programs and represents a significant step forward for autonomous drone operations in Australia.

RocketDNA’s advanced systems, designed for high endurance and resilience in extreme weather conditions, will be pivotal in the execution of airborne law enforcement tasks that range from surveillance and search and rescue operations to monitoring of large public gatherings and crime prevention.

RocketDNA’s involvement in the DFR program is more than just an initial contract—it is a gateway to long-term engagement with WA Police and, potentially, other government authorities across Australia and beyond. While there is no guaranteed minimum order or ongoing commitment at this stage, this engagement as a preferred supplier allows RocketDNA to collaborate with WA Police in a real-world operational setting. The Company is eager to demonstrate its full suite of capabilities and build a comprehensive partnership that supports the future rollout of the DFR programme.

RocketDNA Managing Director, Christopher Clark said: “We are honoured to be selected by the Western Australian Police Force to support their DFR program. This opportunity opens an entire new vertical for the Company, incorporating our BVLOS and Remote Operations experience, to assist the WA Police in responding quickly and effectively to a wide range of law enforcement tasks across the state, reinforcing public safety initiatives, improving emergency responses times and assisting in better allocation of resources within WAPOL.”
