Vietnam Airlines, the national flag carrier of Vietnam, is further strengthening its presence in the Indian market with the launch of operations from Ahmedabad, marking its fifth station in India. Starting 3 November 2026, Vietnam Airlines will operate four weekly flights between Ahmedabad and Hanoi, every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, providing travellers from Gujarat and neighbouring markets with direct connectivity to Vietnam. With Ahmedabad joining the network, Vietnam Airlines will now serve five Indian stations, strengthening connectivity between India and Vietnam while opening greater opportunities for leisure, business and MICE travel. India remains a strategic growth market for Vietnam Airlines. Vietnam Airlines Spokesperson, Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Country Manager, India said: “India is an increasingly important and strategic market for Vietnam Airlines, with strong growth in travel demand, business exchanges and tourism between the two countries. The launch of our Ahmedabad–Hanoi service marks another important step in expanding our presence in India and bringing Vietnam closer to more Indian travellers. Ahmedabad and Gujarat represent a dynamic market with strong economic, business and tourism potential. We are confident that this new service will create greater opportunities for travel and strengthen the connectivity between the two countries. We look forward to working closely with our partners, including Aeroprime, to further develop the India market and deliver greater value to our customers.” The new service will provide travellers from Gujarat with convenient access to Hanoi, while also connecting onwards to Vietnam Airlines’ wider domestic and international network. Vietnam Airlines currently serves major Indian markets including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, with the airline identifying India as a key long-term growth market. The India–Vietnam aviation market has witnessed strong growth, with more than 4,400 scheduled flights and nearly 820,400 passengers recorded between the two countries during the first six months of 2026 alone.
