Vietjet signs tech, infrastructure deals with India’s GMR and Bird Group

Vietjet said it has signed strategic cooperation agreements with India’s GMR Airports and Bird Group to collaborate on aviation infrastructure, services, technology, and connectivity between the two countries. The agreements pave the way for comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and India across aviation, logistics, infrastructure, technology and tourism, while contributing to stronger economic, trade and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries in a new phase of development. Under the cooperation framework, Vietjet and GMR Airports Limited will explore opportunities to jointly develop air connectivity, airport infrastructure, logistics, aviation services, smart airports and long-term investment initiatives. Meanwhile, Vietjet’s partnership with Bird Group will focus on ground handling services, training, aviation technology, travel and hospitality, aiming to enhance service quality and passenger experience. We believe Vietjet’s partnerships with leading Indian enterprises will help open new connectivity corridors across aviation, trade, technology, and investment, contributing to the dynamic development of the Asia-Pacific region.” Over the years, Vietjet has been a pioneer in connecting Vietnam with the 1.4-billion population nation, developing an extensive flight network to India’s major economic, cultural and tourism hubs, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. To date, the airline has operated 25 routes with approximately 80 flights per week, serving more than 2.5 million passengers between the two countries.
