SR Technics and Vietjet Air announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth US$150 million involving providing MRO services on Vietjet’s CFM56-5B engine fleet, installed on their Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The work on the engines will be carried out at SR Technics’ world-renowned facilities at Zurich Airport in Switzerland. The MoU also includes providing engine maintenance, technical and training services, component requirements and repair, and setting up a new Aviation training centre, as a joint venture between Vietjet and SR Technics. It has resumed a series of international flights to and from Vietnam and looks to further expand its operation across continents in the near future. Vietjet is proud to be one of the airlines having the newest and most modern fleets in the region and the world.  Commenting on the MoU signing at the ceremony in Bern, Switzerland, SR Technics’ CEO Jean-Marc Lenz said: “We are very proud that Vietjet is committing to a long-term partnership with SR Technics. This confirms their confidence in SR Technics’ ability and expertise to provide best-in-class MRO services including engine maintenance and technical and training support in line with the highest benchmarks in the industry in terms of safety and quality. Therefore, entrusting us to deliver top-quality performance on their engines, proves how strong the foundation of our future collaboration is. I look forward to visiting the new Aviation training center which will be built in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with our renowned Vietnamese partner.” Vietjet and Swiss-AS sign cooperation agreement (PHOTO: Vietjet) Vietjet and Swiss AviationSoftware (Swiss-AS) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to further extend Vietjet’s adoption of Swiss-AS’s maintenance and engineering solution AMOS to support Vietjet’s fleet. The two parties will extend their cooperation to cover various scopes, strengthening the existing long-term strategic partnership over the next ten years. Swiss-AS and its relevant subsidiaries will provide Vietjet the added platform of AMOS mobile/EXEC for aircraft technical management on mobile devices, thus allowing full automation and digitalisation for Vietjet’s engineers. In addition, Vietjet will use the system with more capacity and update other AMOS modules to better serve in-house management including automation of planning, aircraft scheduling and budget management, etc. Swiss-AS will also provide the AMOS “train the trainer” programme for Vietjet. Fabiano Faccoli, chief operating officer of Swiss-AS, said: “It has been an honour for Swiss-AS to support Vietjet in its impressive growth over the last decade. Swiss-AS is looking forward to further strengthening the excellent partnership and, through its AMOS product suite and services, be instrumental in digitalising Vietjet’s Technical Operation. Swiss-AS shares Vietjet’s customer-focused strategy and is keen to support Vietjet to further improve productivity and quality through innovation, technology and creativity.” Vietjet selected AMOS in 2012. With AMOS, Swiss-AS has supported Vietjet in fleet maintenance and optimisation for more than 90 aircraft with up to 1,150,000 hours of safe operation, with on-time performance reaching over 90 percent and technical reliability standing at 99.64 percent. Vietjet received the highest safety ranking of 7 stars by AirlineRatings and was hailed as one of top 10 safest and best low-cost airlines in the world in 2020. Thai Vietjet claims Thailand’s No.1 domestic market share (PHOTO: Vietjet) Thai Vietjet has become Thailand’s industry leader in both passengers and cargo carried, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT)’s quarterly transportation statistic report of the year 2021. With 25.6 percent of passenger share in Q3/2021, Thai Vietjet placed first among all six Thai-registered carriers. In addition, Thai Vietjet also obtained 42.2 percent share of domestic air freight transportation in the same quarter, making the airline win top share of both passengers and cargo for the first time. Despite the ongoing pandemic for almost two years, Thai Vietjet has steadily advanced to the top of the industry in Q3/2021 from 2nd place in 2020. In addition, the airline has proactively managed to become the domestic air travel market recovery leader, with leading capacity and more new routes opened during the year 2021, offering passengers more choices and flexibility while helping stimulate tourism and travel demand to return at a faster pace. In early November, the airline commemorated its 10 millionth passenger, marking another significant milestone of the airline after its 5th anniversary celebration in mid-September 2021.
