TransNusa adds new Jakarta-Bangkok route

Indonesia’s TransNusa marks the second half of 2026 by introducing a new route from Jakarta to Bangkok strengthening connectivity between two of Southeast Asia’s premier business and tourism travel hubs. On the regional and domestic network expansion, TransNusa Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Bernard Francis said that the much-awaited new route introduction from Jakarta to Bangkok as well as from Bali to Wakatobi and Waingapu will further strengthen TransNusa’s international and domestic connectivity network. Bernard added that the new regional flight route launch is part of TransNusa’s broader strategy to expand connectivity and respond to the growing demand for travel between Indonesia and Thailand, which are two markets that enjoy strong tourism ties. “Thailand is one of the region’s vital tourism hub. Hence, TransNusa’s scheduled flights will provide travellers with greater flexibility while supporting trade and tourism between the two countries. The Jakarta–Bangkok route is one of the busiest and strongest international routes in the region, serving millions of travellers each year. By operating daily scheduled flights for this route, we aim to provide a more seamless connections for our passengers traveling across Southeast Asia and beyond,” Bernard said. “Our goal is to continue improving accessibility across Southeast Asia by continuously introducing new routes and expanding TransNusa’s international as well as its domestic network.” TransNusa will operate two daily flights for the Jakarta-Bangkok route, three weekly direct flights from Bali to Wakatobi, which will be on Monday, Thursday and Sunday, for the Bali-Wakatobi route. For the Bali-Waingapu route, TransNusa will operate four weekly direct flights, which will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Saudi LCC makes India debut Flyadeal has touched down in the city of Hyderabad as the GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) welcomed the inaugural flight of the Saudia Group’s fast-growing low-cost carrier. This marks the airline’s entry into the Indian market and represents a key milestone in airline’s international expansion strategy. The maiden service, which landed at Hyderabad Airport on 4 July 2026, was met by senior officials from GHIAL, including Mr. Kadhir Kadhiravan, CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd., and Mr. Loyd Misquitta, Acting Chief Commercial Officer, flyadeal. This development further strengthens Hyderabad Airport’s stature as a growing international aviation hub and reinforces connectivity between India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Hyderabad route will be operated by flyadeal’s Airbus A320neo aircraft with 186 seats in an all-Economy Class configuration and features include USB-A or USB-C charging ports at every seat, as well as Airbus’ ‘Airspace’ cabin interior with extra-large overhead storage bins. The airline will operate daily (7x weekly) operations on the Riyadh–Hyderabad–Riyadh route. The new service is also designed to offer convenient and well-timed departures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable travel experience for passengers. Passengers flying from Hyderabad will benefit from seamless onward connectivity across flyadeal’s domestic network within Saudi Arabia, opening up access to multiple cities across the Kingdom.
