Following the recent announcement of its direct factory representation in India, Tecnam said it has completed a comprehensive technical training and support program for the country’s Flight Training Organisations (FTOs). Tecnam deployed factory experts to provide full technical support and specialised maintenance training to leading academies, including ARCA Aviation, Chimes Aviation Academy, Flight Simulation Technique Centre (FSTC), Orient Flights, Red Bird Aviation, and Vision Flying Training Institute. Tecnam conducted this extensive support initiative in close cooperation with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Indian aviation authority. Tecnam dispatched its own mechanics from its headquarters in Italy to conduct training with the Indian maintenance crews on the ground. As India experiences an unprecedented surge in demand for commercial airline pilots, flight schools are scaling their operations at a record pace. To ensure these FTOs can maximise their fleet availability, maintain the highest safety standards, and optimise operational costs, Tecnam’s direct technical training program equips local maintenance teams and instructors with advanced, hands-on knowledge of Tecnam’s single and twin-engine platforms. The training covers all aspects of fleet management, from routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the fuel-efficient Rotax and Continental diesel engines to deep-dives into the advanced glass-cockpit avionics systems that prepare Indian cadets for modern airline flight decks. Antoniou Constantinos, Tecnam Maintenance Instructor, who led the training sessions in India, shared his experience: “Working shoulder-to-shoulder with the maintenance teams of major Indian FTOs has been incredibly rewarding. The Indian technicians are highly skilled and deeply committed to aviation safety. By bringing our factory procedures directly to their hangars, we are ensuring that every Tecnam aircraft in India is maintained to the exact same rigorous standards as it would be right here in Capua. This hands-on knowledge transfer is the key to maximising fleet uptime and safety.” Walter Da Costa, Tecnam Chief Sales Officer, emphasised the strategic importance of this initiative: “At Tecnam, we have always believed that delivering an aircraft is just the beginning of our partnership. Our recent transition to direct factory representation in India was a promise to be closer to our customers, and this extensive technical training program is that promise in action. By working directly with top-tier FTOs like Arca, Chimes, FSTC, Red Bird, Orient Flights, and Vision Flight, we are ensuring that their maintenance teams have the exact factory knowledge they need to keep their fleets flying safely, efficiently, and profitably. We are deeply invested in the success of the Indian flight training sector.” For Editorial Inquiries Contact: Editor Matt Driskill at [email protected] For Advertising Inquiries Contact: Head of Sales Sally Passey at [email protected]
