Swiss International Air Lines announced that from 29 March it will deploy its latest Airbus A350 on the Zurich–Seoul route, marking the debut of both the aircraft and the ‘SWISS Senses’ new cabin products and services concept in Korea. The A350 is the first SWISS aircraft to feature a fully redesigned cabin, unveiling a new era of long-haul experience under the SWISS Senses. Introduced globally in late 2025, the concept emphasises comfort, well-being, and contemporary Swiss design and Korea is the first market in Asia to welcome this latest generation of premium travel. (IMAGE: SWISS) The new cabins across four travel classes – First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy – offer more space, privacy, and cutting-edge technology, along with enriched service and design details that elevate the onboard experience. SWISS First now features the exclusive Single Suite and Suite Plus, redefining space and luxury. In SWISS Business, five individual seat types – Classic Seat, Privacy Seat, Extra Long Bed Seat, Extra Space Seat and Business Suite – let travelers personalize their needs at every level. SWISS Senses also includes upgraded cabin services across all classes. From elegant tableware to refined menus and thoughtful details, it brings Swiss hospitality to life from takeoff to landing. According to Felipe Bonifatti, Vice President Asia Pacific, Middle East and Joint Ventures East, “The introduction of SWISS Senses in Korea marks an important strategic milestone for our Asia Pacific business. As the first market in the region to receive this premium Airbus A350 aircraft, Korea sets a clear benchmark for the expansion of our premium offering, strengthening customer loyalty, partner confidence and long-term value.” The completely redesigned cabin combines modern design with enhanced comfort and greater privacy. A calm atmosphere and a contemporary lighting concept accompany the flight. The “Human Centric Lighting” system helps passengers reduce the effects of jet lag. An upgraded service offering, featuring refined menus and thoughtful details, brings Swiss hospitality to life – from the first apéritif to landing the following morning in Seoul. As Leo Tonidandel, Country Manager Korea, highlights, “Korea is a high-value market with strong premium demand across both corporate and leisure travel. Introducing Swiss Senses on the new A350 strengthens our proposition for customers, supports the success of our partners, and reflects our long-term investment in Korea as a core premium market.” Edelweiss brings Thompson’s new VantageXL+ to Europe Thompson Aero Seating (TAS) announced its new VantageXL+ will be showcased by Edelweiss as the first European carrier to offer the A350-specific seat. The VantageXL+ is the newest iteration of the hugely popular VantageXL, optimised for the A350 fuselage. Edelweiss will be taking delivery later in 2026. Each ship set will accommodate 32 PAX in a 1-2-1 LOPA configuration and retrofitted to the airline’s fleet of A350s. The VantageXL+ features a series of carefully crafted adaptations to optimise customer living space and enhance the passenger experience in the A350 environment. Key modifications include: Expanded footwells and re-sculpted internal walls to provide greater legroom and increased knee clearance; Refined suite top rails with a newly contoured profile, enhancing personal living space; Improved IFE monitor positioning, increasing viewing distance for a more immersive experience. Each cabin will include an enhanced front row, comprising four seats, which the airline is branding the new ‘Edelweiss Business Suite’. These VantageXL+ First suites enable a first-class experience at the same passenger density as an all-business-class cabin. For these suites, Edelweiss has selected closable doors, and large 32-inch monitors for a full cinematic experience. In the central suites, the room divider can be individually adjusted, allowing the suite to be used flexibly for guests traveling together. Of course, being part of the TAS Vantage seating family, each seat converts into a spacious and extremely comfortable fully flat bed. For the 28 seats branded ‘Edelweiss Business’, the airline has opted for an aisle side shield for privacy perfectly demonstrating the flexibility of the VantageXL+ platform. Each of these offers a fully flat horizontal bed and 100% direct-aisle access. Passenger wellbeing is at the forefront of the design with the Edelweiss customisation offering extensive work and relaxation space, with multiple personal stowage solutions and a 17.3” monitor. Edelweiss has also been able to express its own brand vision through the seat’s colours, features, trim and finish. Andy Morris, Chief Commercial Officer for Thompson Aero Seating, says: “Every VantageXL suite delivers an outstanding passenger experience through a wide range of amenities, stowages, and the ability to integrate the latest in IFE equipment, all carefully designed to provide incredible levels of comfort. The VantageXL+ represents another step forward in TAS’s commitment to refine and enhance a living product to meet evolving customer requirements. We have been pleased to partner once again with the Edelweiss team on this notable customisation of our seats.” For Editorial Inquiries Contact: Editor Matt Driskill at [email protected] For Advertising Inquiries Contact: Head of Sales Sally Passey at [email protected]
