Singapore signs air services pact with Samoa

Singapore and Samoa have signed an Air Services Agreement (ASA). The agreement was signed by Chee Hong Tat, Singapore Minister for Transport and Olo Fiti Afoa Vaai, Samoa Minister for Works. The ASA, which amounts to an Open Skies Agreement, will allow carriers from both nations to operate unlimited passenger and cargo services between Singapore and Samoa, through and/or beyond to any third country. It will deepen relations between the two nations, fostering greater opportunities for travel, trade, and tourism. Singapore has to date established ASAs with approximately 140 countries and territories, with 80 of them being open skies agreements. Notably, the ASA with Samoa will be the 12th ASA and 8th open skies agreement that Singapore has inked with a Pacific Island state, exemplifying Singapore’s commitment to bolstering air connectivity in the region. Chee Hong Tat, Singapore Minister for Transport said, “The signing of an Air Services Agreement with Samoa underscores Singapore’s dedication to fostering strong aviation partnerships globally.
