Qantas turns to ST Aero for 717 maintenance In February Qantas announced it will shift the heavy maintenance of its Boeing 717 fleet, operated by subsidiary QantasLink, to ST Engineering Aerospace. Qantas said that the contract was awarded after a competitive tender process as the existing contract with Korr Aviation was due to expire in April. A Qantas spokesperson said that the majority of B717 line maintenance will continue to do done at Canberra airport but gaps in the heavy maintenance schedule meant it was not sustainable to continue that work in Australia. QantasLink operates 20 717 aircraft of which 18 are owned by Qantas. ST Engineering Aerospace will commence the contract in July this year.
