Lufthansa Technik and Designworks unveil “The BOW”: At this year’s Aircraft Interior’s Expo (AIX), Lufthansa Technik is presenting an entirely new approach to VIP aviation: “The BOW” – a modular narrowbody cabin concept created in exclusive collaboration with Designworks, a BMW Group Company. The concept redefines the idea of shared deluxe travel for executive groups, sports teams, or artists. Inspired by the growing demand for flexible, design‑driven private travel solutions, the new cabin architecture brings together two leading brands recognized for engineering excellence, premium craftsmanship, and visionary design. As part of the BMW Group, Designworks brings deep roots in automotive design, combined with extensive experience in the luxury and tech segment, while Lufthansa Technik integrates leading‑edge technologies and its proven VIP cabin engineering competence. The design target group is not a single VIP passenger, but a group of high-profile users: a corporate board of directors, a professional sports team or a touring band. Each private suite accommodates one or two travelers and can be used for private meetings or shared dining. Every suite includes dedicated personal storage – ideal for items such as a musical instrument, professional equipment, or personal items – while optional movable partitions allow the cabin atmosphere to shift from a cocoon like privacy mode to open social interaction. All suites can be closed individually, and selected compartments feature automated sections that can be raised or lowered to adjust privacy levels. This flexibility allows operators to configure up to 28 passengers on board without compromising exclusivity or comfort. Unum presents cabin-ready “Unum Two”: Unum Aircraft Seating is introducing Unum Two as a cabin-ready forward-facing business class seat at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2026 in Hamburg. Originally revealed as a design study, Unum Two has completed a three-year development programme spanning industrial design, detailed engineering and testing, marking the next step in the evolution of the company’s forward-facing business class platform. The result is a refined seat that balances passenger comfort with operational performance, built to meet the needs of both airlines and passengers. Unum Two is a 21.5” wide forward-facing seat offering direct aisle access, a privacy door, a generous bed, spacious footwell and the largest side furniture of any forward-facing seat, while matching the efficiency of alternatives on the market. The seat incorporates Unum’s patented Scimitar mechanism, delivering zero-gravity ergonomics and infinite adjustability, designed around Unum’s belief that comfort is created through space and movement rather than layers of complexity. Chris Brady, CEO & Founder of, Unum, says: “When we first shared the forward-facing concept three years ago, we were clear about the ambition of Unum Two. Now we are presenting a seat that has been through the full discipline of design, engineering and testing, and is ready for airline programmes.” Unum Two is now available for orders and complements the existing Unum One herringbone configuration. Together, the two products form a coherent family, offering choice in layout while maintaining a shared design philosophy and passenger experience. Rosen Aviation delivers largest IFE display: Rosen Aviation, CMS and IFE experts headquartered in Eugene, Oregon, today announced successful support of an undisclosed V/VIP widebody fleet aircraft completion including an array of 4K IFE displays and custom developed solutions. Rosen was instrumental in delivering IFE hardware and software support, including the world’s largest IFE display. The massive home cinema display was a ground-up design and certification that, despite its enormous size, came in a full 100 lbs. below the specified weight budget. An assortment of Rosen 4K OLED display sizes were delivered and integrated into the aircraft. This successful collaboration marks Rosen’s increasing presence in V/VIP IFE and CMS, who offer the industry’s only complete line of 4K OLED IFE displays. Additionally, Rosen offers the proven, operator-developed Cabin Management System, Celestia, introduced by Rosen in 2025. Celestia CMS is the selected cabin management system for this aircraft, providing full passenger and crew control as well as IFE integration and distribution. After more than 45 years of continuous innovation, Rosen celebrates this crowning achievement, owing to their agile internal teams and robust processes, as well as world-class partnerships and supply base. Lee Clark, Senior VP of Strategy had this to say: “After many decades of essentially owning the business aviation IFE space, and witnessing our rapid ascension in V/VIP and even commercial aviation, moments like this make me take pause and appreciate just how far we’ve come. Even more exciting is the plethora of opportunity ahead that we have yet to achieve. With confidence, I can say we are actively seizing each moment through constant evolution and a unique, agile approach to doing business. Working with Rosen is every bit about our dedicated culture, fearless design ethos, and our principles of unyielding customer support as it is about our industry-leading technologies.” Thompson reveals VantageXL+ First: At AIX 2026 Thompson Aero Seating (TAS) is revealing its new VantageXL+ First seat for the very first time. The VantageXL+ was recently introduced, designed specifically for the wider A350 and B787 platforms. Now, TAS is revealing the option of an enhanced front row – VantageXL+ First. This curvaceous suite has been designed to bring a first-class experience to the VantageXL+, offering airlines differentiation and the opportunity to provide an extremely luxurious experience for passengers. Andy Morris, Chief Commercial Officer for Thompson Aero Seating, said: “VantageXL+ First is our widest suite yet. This has been termed ‘First Class For Free’ as TAS has made this enhanced suite possible built seamlessly into the business class cabin, with no loss of density. VantageXL+ First features extended bed-level cushioning, resulting in an incredibly comfortable resting and sleeping position. There is a floating outboard armrest and a cocktail surface, as well as a customisable console area and many stowage options. The VantageXL+ First also has the option for a zero-g seating position. An enhanced optional seat height ‘halo’ increases passenger privacy. Boeing and SEKISUI KYDEX collaborate on customer-facing “galley”: At the 2026 Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg, Germany, SEKISUI KYDEX will debut a collaborative widebody aircraft interior concept developed in partnership with Boeing subsidiary EnCore. Known as the Parlor, the customer-facing social galley is a real-world example of how materials, industrial design, and manufacturing expertise can come together to elevate the passenger experience. Designed as a premium-class, wide-body social space, the Parlor reimagines the traditional aircraft galley as a destination within the cabin. The concept is intended to be customer-facing, allowing passengers to help themselves to beverages and snacks while engaging in a more open, welcoming environment. Bringing a refined, residential-inspired aesthetic to the concept, the Parlor showcases what can be achieved when partners are aligned around a shared vision and an accelerated development timeline. EnCore contributed design direction and manufacturing expertise grounded in real-world airline and OEM requirements. SEKISUI KYDEX materials and technologies were integrated throughout the galley to demonstrate how high-performance thermoplastics can support both form and function in customer-facing applications. The installation features a curated selection of KYDEX Thermoplastics, including Infused Imaging technology, KYDEX 7115 Lumina, and Kleerdex custom translucents, demonstrating how these materials can create depth, visual interest, and brand expression in aircraft interiors. The integrated lighting elements within the Parlor further highlight how specialty materials interact with light in an onboard environment, giving designers and airlines a clearer view of what is possible in future cabin applications.
