First Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen3 production unit rolls out of the factory

Textron Aviation recently celebrated the rollout of the first production unit of the Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen3, an important milestone as the aircraft advances toward entry into service. The rollout represents Textron Aviation’s continued investment in the light jet lineup, bringing Garmin G3000 PRIME avionics, Garmin Emergency Autoland and other customer-driven enhancements to the proven Citation CJ4 platform. “This rollout is a visible result of the care, precision and teamwork that move an aircraft from design intent to a production-ready airplane,” said Eric Cardinali, senior vice president, Manufacturing Operations. “For our manufacturing teams, it represents the disciplined execution behind every milestone — translating customer-driven innovation into a high-quality aircraft built to perform. I’m proud of the craftsmanship and collaboration that brought the first Citation CJ4 Gen3 production unit to this point.” The CJ4 Gen3 is expected to be the first light jet to market with Garmin Emergency Autoland, a system designed to automatically take control of the aircraft in the event of pilot incapacitation, identify a suitable airport, guide the aircraft through approach and landing and bring it to a complete stop. Featuring Garmin G3000 PRIME avionics, the all-new flight deck in the light jet is designed to simplify pilot workflow and enhance situational awareness through intuitive touchscreen technology, advanced display capabilities and streamlined controls. Developed in response to customer feedback, the Citation CJ4 Gen3 is designed to elevate the ownership and flying experience through revolutionary technology and the most standard features in its class. Jet Aviation Miami-Opa Locka Achieves IS-BAH Stage 2 Certification Jet Aviation announced today that its new FBO at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport has achieved Stage 2 registration under the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH). The state-of-the-art facility launched full operations in July 2026. The IS-BAH registration process was launched in 2014 by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) to establish internationally recognized standards for safety and ground-handling operations. Jet Aviation operates a network of 12 FBOs in the U.S., as part of a network of some 30 worldwide, all of which are certified IS-BAH Stage 2 and above. “The safety and security of our people, visitors to our sites, and the assets in our care is our number one priority at all times,” says Matt Feinstein, Jet Aviation’s vice president FBO operations, EHS & security in the U.S. “We are incredibly proud to have IS-BAH Stage 2 certification at all of our FBOs in the U.S., and to see our newest facility recognized for its robust safety practices and comprehensive training program just a few months after launching full operations. This achievement reflects the strong safety culture we embed from day one, as well as the team’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence to ensure a seamless experience for our customers in Miami and beyond.” Jet Aviation announced initial operations at Miami-Opa Locka in November 2025, with full operations launching earlier this year. The newly-built 27-acre facility features a state-of-the-art 8,500 square-foot FBO building, 40,000 square feet of new hangarage with 30-foot doors for aircraft parking, a 540,000 square-foot ramp able to accommodate larger-cabin, ultra-long range business jets, two taxiway connections into the airport system, fueling with Jet-A, 100LL and sustainable aviation fuel, and drive-on access to the ramp via a private entrance.
