Korean Air wins six accolades at 2026 Cellars in the Sky: Korean Air has earned six awards at the 2026 Cellars in the Sky Awards, including one gold, four bronze and a Highly Commended distinction for its premium inflight wine selection. Château Guiraud 2022 took gold in the First Class Dessert Wine category with a score of 94 points. Judges praised its deep golden-amber color, rich texture and ability to pair well with desserts. The airline also received bronze honors for Shafer One Point Five 2023 in the First Class Red Wine category and Champagne Palmer & Co Grands Terroirs 2015 in the Business Class Sparkling Wine category. Korean Air earned two additional bronze honors, placing third overall in both the First Class Wine Cellar in the Sky and Business Class Wine Cellar in the Sky categories. Krug Grande Cuvée 173ème Édition, served in First Class, also received a Highly Commended distinction. Organised by the global travel publication Business Traveller, Cellars in the Sky is a leading international airline wine competition. Established in 1985, the awards recognise premium wines served by airlines worldwide. Entries are evaluated through blind tastings by an independent panel of wine experts. Korean Air currently offers 61 wines across its cabin classes, including 20 in First Class and 30 in Prestige Class. The wines are selected to complement the cabin environment and inflight menus, while the portfolio is regularly rotated to offer frequent travelers greater variety. Emirates expands operations in Ghana: Emirates is expanding its operations in Ghana with the introduction of four additional weekly services between Dubai and Accra from 12 July 2026. This reaffirms the airline’s long-term commitment to Ghana and supports the country’s growing demand for travel and global connectivity. The new service will complement Emirates’ existing daily operation and the sustained growth in air travel demand to and from Accra, which continues to experience high seat occupancy year-round. From 12 July, Emirates’ direct service, operating as EK789, will depart Dubai at 03:30hrs, arriving in Accra at 07:40hrs; the return flight, EK790, will depart Accra at 10:25hrs, arriving in Dubai at 22:40hrs. Operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, these flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The new service is optimally timed to connect travellers from Accra to key commercial and tourist hubs including Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Perth, Mumbai, Singapore, New York JFK and Jeddah. The newly added service will also offer travellers a more convenient option to connect to Accra via Dubai, mainly from points such as Delhi, Boston, Los Angeles and gateways across Germany and the UK. LOT Polish Airlines to fly to Tromsø, Norway: Star Alliance member LOT Polish Airlines will be adding Tromsø to its flight schedule from 1 December 2026 and will operate twice-weekly flights to this city in northern Norway until 13 February 2027. Tromsø is located more than 300 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle and is regarded as the perfect gateway to the unique polar world.
