Richard Nuttall. Asian Aviation Editor Matt Driskill is In Conversation with Richard Nuttall, the chief executive officer of SriLankan Airlines. Nuttall has a wealth of industry experience spanning three decades and five continents, having held multiple Chief Officer and Board positions in aviation companies across the globe. Nuttall joined SriLankan Airlines as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in November 2021 and was promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in April 2022. Prior to this he has been vice president of sales with Saudia, Executive Board Member of Skyteam, Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer of Royal Jordanian; Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Air; Commercial Director of Kenyan Airways; Chief Commercial Advisor & Board Member at Philippine Airlines; and Vice President Sales and Marketing-Americas of Polar Air Cargo Inc. He spent his first decade in the Industry in various roles with Cathay Pacific Airways. SriLankan Airlines said recently it expects an on-target performance this winter and beyond spurred by the positive feedback from its first-ever Global Sales Conference held in Sri Lanka last week drawing 170 travel industry representatives from over 40 countries. Via a four-day engagement including a day conference, SriLankan Airlines along with local industry partners showcased the country’s readiness for tourism. SriLankan said the conference drew the largest contingent from the international travel trade to Sri Lanka in recent history. The assemblage experienced Sri Lanka’s top-rated tourist attractions first-hand before convening in Sigiriya to learn about the outlook of Sri Lanka as a destination that is not just magnificent, but safe and more than ready to receive global travellers to its shores.
