Pacific Airshow Gold Coast – to be held from 18 to 20 August over Surfers Paradise beach – has unveiled the first civilian acts in its highly anticipated performer line-up.

Arizona’s Jeff Boerboon, a world champion aerobatic pilot, has created the phenomenal Yak 110, a one-of-a-kind aircraft that merges two Yak-55 aircraft with a CJ610 Lear 24 jet engine. With an impressive power-to-weight ratio, the Yak 110 can perform incredible aerobatic stunts including Jeff’s signature “Hang 110” gravity-defying manoeuvre where he powers up his jet engine to hang vertically, suspended and motionless for a ‘crazy long time’ until he gets bored and decides to climb out of the hover and then descend back to join the crowds with hi-speed low-level passes.

Also taking flight is California’s Greg Colyer, whose mastery of the Lockheed T33 Shooting Star is nothing short of extraordinary. As a seasoned aviator and renowned airshow performer, Colyer keenly shows off the capabilities of this classic jet aircraft, effortlessly weaving his T33 jet across the sky. Said to be an absolute crowd favourite from Huntington Beach, this will be the first time a T-33 has ever performed at an airshow in Australia.

Aarron Deliu, who hails from Australia but lives in Florida, USA, is a formidable force in the world of aerobatics, currently holding the title of Australian Unlimited Aerobatic and Freestyle Champion. His mastery of the Extra 330 aircraft is truly awe-inspiring, as he takes to the skies with skill and precision.

Airboss legend Wayne Boggs, who starred in his own Netflix series, will ‘conduct the orchestra of the skies’ as the event’s ringmaster, jetting in from his hometown of Florida, USA.

The Pacific Airshow Gold Coast team is also delighted to confirm the participation of one of the world’s most accomplished aerobatic pilots and reigning Red Bull Air Race World Champion, Australian Matt Hall. An inaugural Pacific Airshow Gold Coast Ambassador, Hall will be showcasing his incredible skills in his Edge 540 racing aircraft or MXS-R display aircraft. He will be joined in the sky by fellow Matt Hall Racing team pilot, Emma McDonald, also a qualified race pilot and aerobatic competitor, flying the Extra 300.

“We are excited to bring such a diverse and talented group of performers to the Pacific Airshow Gold Coast,” said event visionary and owner of Pacific Airshow Kevin Elliott.

“Progress is well underway with a host of other world leading military aviators and civilian performers, of all shapes and sizes, which will be announced over the weeks leading to the event… this is just the first installment of what is going to make up a jam-packed daily event schedule. Everyone has an inner aviator that has dreamt of flying. Pacific Airshow represents the greatest collection of flying machines pushing the envelope over the world’s most spectacular stages.”

Tickets are now on sale with Adult General Admission starting at an affordable $45 for one day and $90 for a three-day pass. One Day General Admission Family Passes for 2 adults and 2 children will be $125. For those who are planning a party and love the idea of adrenalin-pumping flyovers with a spectacular backdrop, there is a great choice in hospitality packages.

Pacific Airshow Gold Coast will be a festival of fun on the ground, as well as in the air, with the event precinct stretching several kilometres along the Surfers Paradise Esplanade.

“The talent announced so far is truly world-class. Everyone on the beach will witness the best aviators in the business as well as incredible entertainment the length of Surfers Paradise foreshore,” said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.

“Strap in Gold Coasters…. we have four months to go before the skies light up.”
