Oxford Aviation Academy has become the first non-Singaporean type rating training organisation to receive approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
With this new TRTO approval in place, OAA’s Hong Kong training centre can now deliver approved A320 and A330 Type Rating Training programmes leading to the issue of a CAAS Type Rating.
OAA says that the new approval enables it to develop bespoke training programmes to address the manpower gaps for pilots within the region’s airline industry.
Singapore-based airlines Jetstar Asia and Tiger Airways will be the first to make use of the new approval. OAA says it has collaborated with both airlines for the launch of ‘innovative’ airline pilot cadet training programmes to support their expanding Pan- Asian operations.
The first 18 cadet pilots selected for these programmes are now already in the process of completing their final phase of A320 Type Rating Training in Hong Kong.
