NAT GETS CATHAY PREMIUM APPROVAL

Northwest Aerospace Technologies has obtained FAA STC Certification and Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) VSTC approval for the installation of Cathay Pacific’s Premium Economy product including new Premium Economy class seats, new cabin monuments and associated furnishings for the airlines Boeing 747-400 aircraft fleet.

The prototype modification was accomplished at Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company (HAECO) where follow-on 747-400 aircraft modifications continue through 2012.  Diamond Ho, Manager, Cabin Engineering of Cathay Pacific Airways, stated “NAT is a great and professional team to work with and bring the Premium Economy program to success.”

NAT is also working with Cathay as project integrator to develop the airlines Airbus A340-300 Premium Economy product.  The A340-300s will be modified at HAECO under an NAT EASA STC with HKCAD VSTC approval beginning in 2013.   Jeff McShane, executive vice president of NAT, stated “We are proud to be working with Cathay Pacific and alongside HAECO to bring Cathay’s new premium economy product to market .”
