Korean Air received the accolade of best operator of A330 at the Airbus A300/A340 Technical Symposium event held in Bangkok, the seventh award that Korean Air has obtained since the year 2000.
Every two years at the Technical Symposium event, Airbus awards the best performing airlines that operate A330/340 following a thorough evaluation of their overall performance including the on-time operation rate and aircraft utilization.
Operating a total of 23 A330s, Korean Air has the highest recorded on-time operation rate of 99.78% amongst 120 airlines from 2010 to 2011.On-time operation rate refers to the international index that measures the accuracy of flight operation due to delays or defects. This measurement is taken by calculating the number of flights operated within a 15 minute time frame of the STD/STA.
