Korean Air has received a 5-star global airline rating in the APEX Official Airline Ratings for the fifth consecutive year. Headquartered in New York and established in 1979, APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) is a non-profit association, which has 482 airline industry members, including airlines and aircraft manufacturers. Since 2018, APEX has compiled an airline rating program based solely on passenger feedback via the mobile application “TripIt.”
APEX collects passenger feedback from more than one million flights across 600 airlines from around the world in areas including seat comfort, cabin service, in-flight meals and in-flight entertainment. Based on the feedback, the APEX Official Airline Ratings is compiled and certified by a professional external auditing company. The 5-star rating reflects Korean Air’s excellent service qualities. The airline’s rating is based on the intuitive features and comfort of its first class Kosmo Suites 2.0 and in-flight entertainment system that offers a wide variety of content. The airline also offers in-flight meals using seasonal ingredients and a quality wine selection.
Korean Air has maintained its 5-star status since 2018 along with eleven airlines around the world including Delta Air Lines, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines and Lufthansa. Korean Air has been recognised for its comprehensive efforts to improve customer service amid the pandemic by successfully introducing safe and hygienic protocols through its Care First program. The airline recently received a 5-star COVID safety rating by SkyTrax, and was named Air Transport World’s (ATW) 2021 Airline of the Year.
