KLIA 2 on schedule to open May 2
Malaysia’s beleaguered Acting Transport Minister has said KLIA 2 will open as schedule on May 2 despite a report from consultants that revealed cracks in the terminal building and surrounding taxiway.
Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein revealed that Ikram Consulting had also found that some of the surrounding land was sinking.
Despite this, the report found the budget terminal to be safe, recommending that the cracks in the taxiway be repaired to ICAO standards.
Ikram will conduct another survey on April 14.
