Avalon 25Bell Textron has named Japan General Aviation Service (JGAS) as the new Bell 505 authorised reseller for the Japanese market. This appointment aims to continue the model’s momentum in the key Asian market.

“We have seen the Bell 505 grow from strength to strength in the region over the last few years and we want to ensure the momentum continues within Japan. With their extensive experience and deep commitment to the customer, JGAS was the ideal choice to work with to grow the Bell 505’s presence in a key market,” said Takuya Masamura, country manager, Bell Japan. “We look forward to working together to deliver an aircraft that consistently and efficiently provides value and performance to users.”

Founded in 2009, JGAS is a leading Japanese aerospace business, dealing with aircraft sales, spare parts and aftermarket support services. In 2023, they signed a purchase agreement for Japan’s first Bell 429 Designer Series helicopter.

“We are honoured to be chosen as a Bell 505 authorised reseller in Japan, reflecting our good working relationship with Bell. Operators in Japan are recognising the multi-mission capabilities a Bell 505, a next generation short-light single helicopter, can bring to their fleet. JGAS is well placed in Japan to grow the Bell 505 footprint here while offering the capabilities to customise aircraft to suit the needs of Japanese operators,” added Masayuki Tominaga, vice president and general manager, Aviation Business Headquarters, JGAS.

Since its 2017 introduction, Bell has delivered over 100 Bell 505 aircraft across the Asia Pacific region. The aircraft was carefully designed from the start to meet diverse needs, with a spacious, customisable cabin and reliable engine controlled by a dual channel FADEC system. It delivers exceptional visibility and panoramic views through its glass cockpit, along with comfortable elevated rear seating. The Bell 505 proves highly efficient and dependable for varied climates and terrain.
