Jet Aviation announced that it has redelivered its quietest narrow-body completion to date, with sound levels below 40 dB SIL. The elegant contemporary interior was designed by the Jet Aviation Design Studio, and engineered, produced, installed, and certified in-house at the completion center in Basel, Switzerland.
Jet Aviation developed an in-house acoustic lab to build on the team’s previous achievements in sound and weight balance and develop new technologies to analyze and test different materials for their acoustic properties. The final interior achieved decibel levels of below 40 in the principle’s seat.
“We are very proud to be setting a new standard in acoustic performance for VIP completions,” says Christoph Fondalinski, vice president completions. “This was the second aircraft for this customer. The previous redelivery was our quietest and lightest at the time, so there were high expectations for this second cabin. Sound levels were a crucial consideration, and our engineers worked closely with Design, Production, and Installation to develop new methods and materials to ensure that the cabin was as quiet as possible, while also exceeding the customer’s expectations on weight.”
The design featured special materials certified for use in the cabin by Jet Aviation to further enhance sound dampening, as well as intricate production and installation techniques which reduced the sounds emitted by the interior systems of the aircraft.
“It is always very rewarding when a customer returns to us with the challenge of beating our own records,” says Florent Klinger, head of engineering. “To achieve below 40 dB SIL in a narrow-body aircraft is an incredible achievement. We could not do this without the close collaboration we have with our in-house teams, all of whom contributed by continuing our acoustics work, finding new ways of fitting interior systems to reduce noise, exploring new sound-dampening materials, and utilising our 47 years of experience in VVIP completions. Together, we could meet the brief and redeliver a cabin that represents a new milestone in what we are able offer to our customers.”
In addition to the VVIP areas, the layout includes four fully customised first-class suites, with lie-flat seats, designed and crafted to the customer’s exact requirements. The interior palette throughout draws on soft tones of cream and beige, accented with mother of pearl sinks, 100% silk carpets, warm gold metal accents, and a custom-designed embroidered silk bulkhead in the main cabin. To enhance the sense of space and relaxation, the cabin features curved ceilings of over 2.1 meters, and has four flexible OLED screens fitted flush to the sidewalls.
Jet Aviation launches Staffing Marketplace integration for Avianis
Jet Aviation announced that its online staffing portal, Jet Aviation Staffing Marketplace, is now integrated with flight planning software, Avianis. The integration enables Avianis users to use one single platform for all their recruiting needs. Avianis users can now connect to Jet Aviation Staffing Marketplace to create job postings directly from their Avianis profile. As trip details are updated, the system will automatically connect with Staffing Marketplace, allowing candidates to be sourced and details to be viewed simultaneously across both platforms.
“We are delighted to continue advancing Staffing Marketplace as we expand our capabilities and offerings to meet the needs of our customers,” says Elaine Lapotosky, Jet Aviation’s vice president staffing. “The integration of Avianis marks a step forward in centralizing staffing management by providing operators an efficient experience within one platform to access top-tier talent, advanced search tools, and seamless flight planning. This allows for a transformative and streamlined staffing solution within the ever-evolving industry.”
Jet Aviation Staffing offers comprehensive staffing services, ensuring clients find the right talent to meet their unique operational needs. In 2023, Jet Aviation launched Staffing Marketplace to candidates, and in 2024 to operators. The platform brings all aspects of the recruitment process into one centralized digital platform, including application review, tracking, contract, and payroll. Jet Aviation Staffing collaborated with Portside, a technology solutions provider, to develop Jet Aviation Staffing Marketplace and facilitate the integration of Avianis, a Portside company.
