Investigators examine possible FAC failure on QZ8501
Investigators are examining the possibility of a failure of the twin Flight Augmentation Computers (FAC) on the doomed AirAsia flight QZ8501.
Reuters reports that a person familiar with the investigation as saying, “”There appears to be some issue with the FAC.”
Failure of the FAC not likely to have been a direct cause of the crash in late December, Reuters reports, but without them the pilots would have had to rely on manual flying skills.
