Avalon 25Hong Kong Airlines announced a new direct route to Sendai, Japan, commencing 18 December 2024. Operating three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, the new Sendai service offers convenient access to the heart of Tohoku region. Sendai will be Hong Kong Airlines’ ninth destination in Japan, further expanding the airline’s route network coverage in the region and providing travellers with more options for exploring this vibrant country. With a flight time of approximately four hours, Sendai becomes an easily accessible gateway to the distinctive charm of Northeast Japan.

As the capital of Miyagi Prefecture, Sendai is renowned for its profound historical and cultural legacy, as well as its stunning natural scenery. Known as the “City of Trees”, Sendai offers a harmonious blend of urban and natural environments. Visitors can experience the scenic beauty of Matsushima Bay, one of Japan’s “Three Most Scenic Spots,” explore historical landmarks such as Aoba Castle and Zuihoden Mausoleum, and relax in the famous hot springs of Akiu Onsen and Ginzan Onsen. The city is also a culinary destination, known for its signature grilled beef tongue and a plethora of other regional delicacies.

The new Sendai service strengthens Hong Kong Airlines’ presence in Japan, meeting the growing demand for travel to popular Japanese destinations. In addition to the new Sendai route, Hong Kong Airlines will also increase its Sapporo service to daily flights and its Tokyo (Narita) service to five times daily this winter, further enhancing travel options for its passengers.

APG wins deal for Japan, Malaysia, Thailand
APG has announced its appointment as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for RwandAir in Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand.
