FL Technics Indonesia has recently inducted the first Boeing 737 MAX for maintenance. The company obtained approval for performing maintenance of this type of aircraft in May 2025. The certification applies to the company’s two main facilities located at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali (DPS).
“Following the recent authorisation from civil aviation authorities, our local facilities are equipped to deliver high-quality 737 MAX component repair and maintenance services. Backed by a global aviation group with long-term strategic goals in the region, we combine advanced MRO technologies with the expertise of leading specialists. With airlines looking to overhaul their fleets, we are ready to become their independent MRO partner of choice,” said Martynas Grigas, CEO of FL Technics Indonesia.
FL Technics Indonesia is a part of FL Technics Group, a global MRO provider with over 3,000 employees worldwide serving clients across a wide network of base and line maintenance stations. The Group, in turn, is part of Avia Solutions Group, the largest provider of ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services in the world.
Last year, FL Technics Indonesia opened a new facility in Bali, which has since achieved CASA, FAA, and DGCA aviation safety certifications, and plans to qualify for EASA certification in the near future. The company is also considering expanding its 27,500 m2 hangar in Jakarta by an additional 88,000 m2.
In addition to the 737 MAX, FL Technics Indonesia provides comprehensive MRO services for a wide range of aircraft types, including Boeing Classic, Next Generation (NG), and MAX series, as well as Airbus A320ceo and A320neo families. The company is also certified to service engines such as the CFM56-3/5/7, V2500-A, LEAP-1A and 1B, and PW1100G.
FL Technics Engine Services expands Kaunas shop

FL Technics Engine Services, a subsidiary of global aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services provider FL Technics Group, has expanded its engine shop in Kaunas, Lithuania, from five to eight fully equipped bays. As demand for engine maintenance continues to grow globally, this 60% capacity increase will enhance the company’s ability to provide timely and efficient engine services. The Kaunas shop is certified exclusively for the CFM56 engine family – the most widely used engine type in commercial aviation. Currently, around 70% of the shop‘s work focuses on CFM56-7B engines and the remaining share is spent working CFM56-5B and CFM56-3 engines.
“The market is facing ongoing challenges with new-generation engines – from technical issues to persistent parts shortages. As a result, airlines are extending the life of their existing fleets, and the demand for CFM56 maintenance has significantly increased. This translates directly into more work for shops like ours worldwide. Over the past few years, the number of shop visits has been steadily rising, and during peak periods, capacity became a challenge,” says Valerij Deveikis, CEO at FL Technics Engine Services.
To stay ahead and maintain flexibility, FL Technics Engine Services decided to expand its Kaunas facility, which is now capable of servicing eight engines simultaneously. This allows the company to offer more immediate repair slots, optimize turnaround times, and continue delivering the responsive, high-quality service.
“Despite elevated demand, our goal remains unchanged – to deliver reliable, efficient, and timely maintenance solutions to every customer,” said Deveikis. “Previously, when all five bays were occupied, it limited our flexibility to accept quick-turn repairs or handle larger scope projects. With eight bays, we can take on more complex repairs and still remain responsive to urgent AOG situations.”
The expansion project involves not only increasing the shop’s physical space but also growing its team. With more bays and higher engine flow, FL Technics Engine Services is bringing in experienced professionals as well as encouraging young talents from Lithuanian universities and aviation schools to develop their skills in aviation maintenance.
An EASA Part-145 certified company, FL Technics Engine Services provides quick-turn services and on-wing support in its engine shop in Kaunas Free Economic Zone. The company’s services engine repair, teardowns and module swap, covering three main generations of CFM International CFM56 engines, namely CFM56-3, CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B.
