www.txtav.com/jetsAustralia’s Elenium has taken out fifth spot on Fast Company’s prestigious annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Travel Companies for 2022. This year’s list honours businesses that are making the biggest impact on their industries and culture as a whole. The most innovative companies in travel this year are not only tackling pandemic-triggered travel challenges, they’re also addressing pain points that have long afflicted the industry.

Based in Australia, Elenium was recognised for its achievements in helping people—and their luggage—get through airports more quickly and safely, and for growing its automation capabilities throughout the pandemic, despite ongoing industry disruption. Elenium designs, develops, and manufactures self-service and automation technologies incorporating voice control and biometrics to reduce airport passenger congestion by up to 60 percent. Elenium recently developed a touch-less vital sign detection solution to reassure passengers and ensure staff safety during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Elenium received special mention for its work with Etihad Airways on a white label self-service technology, which allows passengers to check in and provide health information—body temperature, heart rate, and even respiratory rate. This has led to shorter wait times at check in and security, as well as increased health safety. Its suite of products VYGR (short for Voyager) is used in over 20 airports globally including Auckland Airport, Bangalore Airport, and Avalon Airport in Australia. The VYGR suite also includes an AI-powered bag drop that eliminates the need for bag tags.

Elenium made the Top 5 alongside companies that are leading the way in helping to make travel seamless, accessible and flexible including Hopper, Atlys, Deem and Airspace Intelligence.

Aaron Hornlimann, CEO and co-founder at Elenium Automation, said: “It’s an honour to be placed in the company of such a high calibre of companies whose vision for travel aligns with our own. Elenium is proud to be recognised by Fast Company for setting a benchmark in the automation of airports and passenger experience. Since starting the company, we have always been focused on improving the passenger experience. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, we combined that focus with finding ways to make the world safer by enhancing various customer-facing devices with touch-less capability and evolving them into health screening points using contactless vital sign detection. We are thrilled to see travel back on the agenda and believe these technologies have an important role to play in restoring passenger confidence while making their airport journey faster, simpler and more enjoyable.”
