Pratt and Whitney begins GTF engine overhaul in Singapore
Eagle Air Services Asia (ESA), the Pratt and Whitney Singapore engine centre, has inducted its first PW 1100G-JM engine for overhaul. The facility, a joint venture with SIA Engineering, has been repurposed to handle multiple engine overhaul lines covering the PW4000 family, GP7200 engines and the PW1100G.
“The Singapore engine centre is now fully enabled to overhaul multiple engine models and ESA has invested nearly $85 million to upgrade and modernise the facility, including training employees and acquiring new tooling,” said Brendon McWilliam, P&W Senior Director Aftermarket Operations – Asia Pacific.
Ying-Kiong Yip, Managing Director ESA said: “This is an exciting period of expansion and growth for us. In addition to broadening our capabilities on next generation engines, this expansion enables us to invest in our engineers and technicians by training them to handle advanced materials and automation.
