DUBAI NOK AIR FIRST TO OPERATE Q400 WITH EXTRA SEATS

Dubai: Nok Air first to operate Q400 with extra seats

Bombardier has launched an extra capacity seating option for the Q400 NextGen, with Thai carrier Nok Air as launch customer.

The new option will add up to 14 extra seats to accommodate up to 86 passengers. Nok Air has placed a firm order for two with two options and purchase rights for another four. The Thai carrier will be the first to operate the Q400 NextGen in Southeast Asia.

There will be no changes to the airframe – the capacity increase comes through converting the front right-hand side baggage door into an emergency exit door, eliminating the front baggage compartment and modifying the galley and wardrobe closet. Seat pitch is reduced from 30 inches to 29 inches. An 82-seat configuration will be available with the standard 30-inch pitch.
