Top ranking airlines and airports across the globe all showed notable improvements in April over their OTP performance in March. APAC however, stands out this month, recording the largest increases in OTP among all regions. The global leader this month however, emerged from the Latin America region. With an OTP of 88.83%, Aeromexico (AM) has regained its position as the global leader this month. Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX), the primary hub for Aeromexico placed fifth in the global airports category with an OTP of 86.54%.

JAL (JL) made an astonishing improvement this month and finished in second place with an OTP of 88.17%, a near 10-point increase over last month (78.40%) and nineteenth place. Haneda Airport (HND), which serves as the main hub for JAL in Tokyo, also came in second place in the global airports category with an OTP of 87.85%, a 7-point increase over last month’s OTP of 80.20%.
ANA (NH) followed in third place with an OTP of 87.21%, a 5-point improvement over last month’s OTP of 82.12%. Narita International Airport (NRT), ANA’s key international hub, followed the positive trend and concluded the month with an OTP of 84.20%, a 4-point increase over last month’s OTP of 80.09%.
Iberia (IB) took the fourth place position with an OTP of 86.91%, a near 2-point increase over last month. Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) the main hub for the airline concluded the month with an OTP of 80.86%, also with a near 2-point improvement compared to last month’s OTP of 79.40%. LATAM Airlines (LA) once again finished the month in fifth place with an OTP of 86.61%. Arturo Merino Benitez Airport (SCL), a hub for LATAM Airlines, finished the month in sixth place with an OTP of 86.40%.
Asia-Pacific
The number of flights cancelled in the region increased by 20% last month, reaching 33,592, compared to 27,821 in March. Airlines and airports in the region took advantage of the limited operations to improve on their on-time performance this month.
After months of being displaced from the top position, JAL (JL) emerged this month as the regional leader with an OTP of 88.17%, a near 10-point improvement compared to last month’s OTP of 78.40%.
ANA (NH) closely followed in second place with an OTP of 87.21%, an increase of 5-points compared to March’s OTP of 82.12%. Similarly, Osaka International Airport (ITM), a main hub for ANA, was the leader in the medium airports category and achieved an impressive OTP of 94.10%, a 5-point increase from last month’s OTP of 88.63%. AirAsia (AK) secured the third-place position with an OTP of 85.48%. With a near 7-point improvement over last month’s performance (77.46%), Peach Aviation (MM) took the fourth place spot with an OTP of 84.19%. Vietnam Airlines (VN) safely secured the fifth spot with an OTP of 81.85%, a near 3-point increase over last month (78.98%). Noi Bai International Airport (HAN), a hub for Vietnam Airlines in Hanoi, concluded the month with an OTP of 73.18%.
