Cathay orders two L-3 FFS units

Cathay Pacific has ordered two Airbus A350 Full Flight Simulators (FFS) from L-3 Link Simulation & Training (L-3 Link).

The Hong Kong carrier also ordered two Pilot Transition (PT) trainers and multiple Flight Management System (FMS) trainers. With this award, Cathay Pacific becomes the first customer to select L-3 Link’s new A350 training product solutions.

The simulators and trainers will be installed at Cathay Pacific’s Flight Training Centre located at Hong Kong International Airport. All systems are scheduled to be fully operational during the third quarter of 2015 in order to support fleet introduction the following year.

“Cathay Pacific has a high level of confidence in our technical approach and capability to manage a development programme based on the advanced state of our A350 simulation solutions,” said Mark Gasson, vice president of L-3 Link UK. “Meeting our customer’s cost, schedule, reliability and support expectations, while providing a highly realistic pilot training experience, is at the core of our simulation solutions on this milestone Airbus program.”
